Hard to believe the ‘summer is over’ even though this is the beginning of the best time of year in this part of the world (imho) The days are in the low 70’s bright blue skies, a breeze – the insect population is down and the nights are cool.  All good things.

The days however are short. Dark comes early. It’s the start of busy season – falling acorns and back to school.

I did some work around the farm – trimming / felling trees and brush, moving topsoil and generally cleaning up. I also got the mill fired up. First time in months. (been busy with other things I guess)

I made quick work of a practice log before I set out to mill a couple of nice long sticks that await my industry.
